Why my eyes beat my phone at night
My eyes catch less light than a phone sensor, yet in a dark room I see more. The eye doesn't count photons better. It adds them up better.
Why dark photos are noisy
Why does a photo taken at night look grainy? Light arrives in countable drops, and in the dark there aren't many.
